The RV Sukapha is a 40m long, twin-engined, steelhulled passenger ship and the sister vessel to the popular RV Charaidew. The vessel has 12 generous-sized twin-bedded air-conditioned cabins with en suite shower and WC. All cabin accommodation is on the upper deck, as is the bar and sitting area. The dining room is on the lower deck, while a top sundeck offers additional open-air seating and sun loungers. Furnishings make extensive use of natural materials and local fabrics. Food on board is mainly Assamese (milder than most Indian cuisine). On board there is also a good selection of spirits as well as local wines and beer. The owner and operator of the vessel, the Assam Bengal Navigation Co., is an Indian/British joint venture based in Guwahati and its directors have a wealth of experience in both operating river vessels and Indian tourism.
